what do people think to being able to have real money for points?
you're having a laugh, right? I mean where exactly do you think the money is going to come from?
That's a very kind offer mr. Four names. I've currently got 10000000 points. Private message me for my bank details and you can transfer it over.
What a lovely guy. We're all rich!
I'm assuming its a pound a point right?
Cam, if you private message me with your bank account information, I promise to turn all your points into money.
Would I lie to you?
Yeah....maybe if you got a dollar or a pound for every 1 trillion points you had. Otherwise, I don't see how this could possibly work. Points are too easy to get. It's not as easy to max out as it used to be, but I have over a hundred million, and I only had to answer some trivia questions and get a few lucky calls on Hi-Lo to get them.
this wouldn't work. we've talked about rewards for points loads of times, but as yet nothing's been done about it because when you think about it, there's not really anything you can do.
well, I have 116 billion points. me thinks that it would be well worth joining if this was how it worked. lol.
Wow. How did you get a hundred sixteen billion? They're easy to get, but I didn't know it was that...well, I'll say possible.
well, let's just say that I have some very generous friends, or is that that I happen to be in the right places at the right times, and plus... let's be honest since most people have no use for points many are happy to dispense with them at will...
sheesh. i've only just realised that my post was a bit uh... blunt?
k let me rephrase it better.
the reasons why points wouldn't work for gifts are:
1. if it's money, where's that going to come from
2. if it's something like voutchers etc, again, where's that going to come from
3. i know it's been talked about that if you have a certain amount of points you could get a free premium. no... because the zone would lose out on money.
4. people will start getting others to send them points just so they can get the rewards, there for more and more stuff has to bee given away which we simply don't have.
i don't see why we just scrap points. there good for the games, but that's about it. i'm surprised people care how many points they still have.
there, i think that sums it up
Well, that's just it. Points are for games. What I don't get is why there's a limit. If they mean nothing besides bragging rights and something to bet with, why does it matter if someone has over a quadrillian points?
exactly. couldn't we uh... take the limit away?
I believe the limit is something to do with the way the whole points system was coded. I'm not an expert, so i'm not too sure how easy it would be to set no limit, but i'm guessing they'd have to set some insanely high limit as there probably has to be one for the code.
Ok, hope that made at least a tiny bit of sense, lol!

It wouldn't be possible, because, where would the money come from? The admins probably aren't millionaires, you know. Anyway everyone would just be going crazy if there was a cash prize for points, or even if it was a voucher or something.
Professional, there used to be no limit.
I have just had some brilliant ideas.
Every time we log in we should receive a prize, from anything from a small zone bbs pen, to ten thousand pounds in cold hard cash.
And every time we are hungry and write that fact in qn's, the kind members of zone staff should e-mail us a burger, or maybe a bowl of salad for the health concious among us.
Maybe whenever we use the randomiser, we could get it so that if it says tiger, we hear a tiger roar at us.
Maybe we could have a feature where if people dribble on the boards we could be sent a free complimentary napkin, so we could wipe any wetness that we get on us.
How about when we use zone by phone we can implament a feature where we are all able to be teleported to the same place, so that we could have a conference in person?
I do hope this doesn't take away from the point of this board...valid as it is. But i'd be very happy if I get the same amount of well thought out serious answers. I hope you find my ideas just as worthy as the points for cash brain wave.
lol to the last poster; thanks for the laugh. I really, really needed that.
hCam, brilliant as usual.
lol. wow... that reminds me of that alexander guy. anyone remember his suggestion he posted about the party line thing
I have a brilliant idea. Every ten points, is worth one percent interest. Then, you invest some money for one year. If you invest one dollar at 1000 points, at the end of the year you'd have two dollars. If you invested a dollar at a million points, you'd get a hundred thousand dollars. Just imagine your 116 billion points with only one dollar or pound. All you'd have to do is play games and be a millionaire! I'm going for it. What do you think? *smile*
sheesh. i think that's over reacting, big time.
I was joking. Really, I think that points are useless and value for them is impossible unless it's a year of premium for every quintillion points.
Yeah. I was hoping you were joking. Lol.
and this topic is still going?. sorry... i just had to say that.
I think it's kind of like something misplaced from the joke board. I have a new idea. Every time you crash the system completely because you have too many points, you get one millionth of a cent. That sounds realistic.
yes unless we remove that part of the code?
What part of the code?
Can we just remove you?
you can remove me if you like! i mean the part of the code that says that says there is a limit as to how many points people can have!
I think I deserve a million dollars for every time I'm stupid enough to read this topic or anything else created by the original poster of this topic.
I agree that there shouldn't be a limit on the amount of points a person should have, if the points aren't usable.
Ok, please wait. Removing code figuratively. Error dialog. The total points system is encountering a problem because things are going infinitely. You can no longer play games or do anything related to points because they link to a code error. How do you like that? I guess you could increase the limit, but you couldn't remove it. Before you say that there used to be no limit (when I wasn't here), that probably meant just a high limit.
